Grading Scale

Elementary

GRADING (K-3)

Standards based grade reports. Each standard is measured from the following indicators.

4 - Proficient - I can show that I understand grade level work consistently on my own.

3 - Approaching Proficiency - I can show that I understand grade level work most of the time, but I still might make mistakes.

2 - Beginning Progress - I am beginning to understand grade level work with help from my teacher.

1 - Of Concern - I do not understand grade level work.

Middle and High School

In order to maintain an equitable reporting system, it is essential that teachers at all levels use a similar grading scale.  The following scale shall be used for determining grades on a percentage basis:

Grading scale chart showing letter grades, percent ranges, GPA, and Dual or AP GPA values. A plus equals 99.5 percent and 4.0 GPA. A equals 93.5 percent, 4.0 GPA, and 4.2 Dual or AP GPA. A minus equals 91.5 percent and 3.67 GPA. B plus equals 89.5 percent and 3.33 GPA. B equals 84.5 percent, 3.0 GPA, and 3.15 Dual or AP GPA. B minus equals 82.5 percent and 2.67 GPA. C plus equals 80.5 percent and 2.33 GPA. C equals 75.5 percent, 2.0 GPA, and 2.1 Dual or AP GPA. C minus equals 73.5 percent and 1.67 GPA. D plus equals 71.5 percent and 1.33 GPA. D equals 66.5 percent, 1.0 GPA, and 1.05 Dual or AP GPA. D minus equals 64.5 percent and 0.67 GPA. F equals 64 percent and below and 0.0 GPA.
