SDMyLife's goal is to help students understand how their interests, skills, and knowledge relate to real-world academic and career opportunities. SDMyLife is packed with activities, resources and information to help students in each step along the way.
Deuel Junior and Senior students attended Fall Planning Day at Lake Area Technical College. It was a great opportunity that brought numerous admission representatives from in and out of state private and public colleges, as well as military representatives, to meet with students and answer questions.
Bring Your 'A' Game to Work — Soft Skills Training Opportunity
Deuel Sophomores are having the opportunity to earn a Bring Your 'A' Game Certificate. This training program which is delivered through SD Department of Labor and Regulation at no cost. The DLR through an in-person trainer uses engaging curriculum for building the seven foundational workplace skills of work ethic. Students discover the 7 most important soft skills (Attendance, Appearance, Attitude, Ambition, Accountability, Acceptance and Appreciation) through activities and group participation.
At Tech Days you’ll attend classes, get hands-on in the labs and see what a day at Lake Area Tech is all about. You’ll also receive information on our admission process, applying for financial aid, locating housing and much more. Session 2: 11:30 AM – 2:30 PM
A unique and fun day where students have the chance to explore careers in a “non-traditional” field. Both males and females in 10th grade have the opportunity to experience hands-on activities in fields that are traditionally gender specific. (Equity pre-education at the participating high schools is required and delivered by the Lake Area Tech Equity Coordinator.) Students who attend Equity Day are also given a post-education seminar for educational purposes. Open to students in grade 10.
