Annual Audit Report

  • The accounting firm of William Neale & Co., P.C. of Watertown, SD recently completed the annual independent audit report for the district for the year ending June 30, 2020.  The audit function may be one of the most crucial aspects of monitoring a school district’s financial condition. It is the Board of Education’s responsibility to maintain the fiscal health of the district and to ensure that all legal mandates relating to the financial transactions of the District are adhered to.

    Board of Education members set policy and it is extremely important for school districts and school boards to have effective policies that are consistent with state and federal law. Deuel School District uses the eBOARD Policy Software called Simbli that streamlines the overall school board policy process.
     
    Simbli makes it straightforward for the school board members and district community to have easy access to the policies of the school.  For example, when the board votes on a policy, the minutes will state, “Motion to adopt Policy JEAA: Student Alternative Instructions.” By locating the code, JEAA, you can access the link for the full policy.
